When I first met with Colton Baker, he was the very picture of Christian character and seemed genuinely eager to advocate for me in a very difficult case. But after he cashed my $5,000 non-refundable retainer check, he dropped off the planet and I didn't hear from him for two full months. Colton ...didn't communicate until I threatened to turn him in to the Board of Professional Responsibility. When he finally wrote the court Petition, he ignored my wishes and wrote it the way he wanted. He also knew he was supposed to file a motion to recuse, but he didn't bother to do that until I turned to the BOPR CAP program for help. Big mistake. NEVER forget for a moment that the BOPR and CAP are Tennessee lawyers protecting Tennessee lawyers. They are NEVER on the consumer's side, which is precisely why we have the sorriest bunch of lazy, crooked lawyers in the state. Try to find even one who will represent a victim of crime instead of the criminal and you will quickly grasp the truly sick culture of our legal community. Lawyers protecting lawyers, NOT their clients, NOT victims. The only thing consumers can count on are the honest reviews of other consumers. We have to write the truth about our experience whether good or bad. I'm honestly thankful when I can write a positive review about an area lawyer because most of them are a complete waste of money.
