If I could give him a negetive Star I would! I was arrested on fairly serious charges and while I was I. Custody I was appointed this man as my public defender. It was my first offense and of corse I was innocent.. I was In tears and I expressed to Unitis my fears and how I wanted to get out of custo...dy.. he, and I kid u not, wispered to me “just plea guilty and I’ll get you out” thank god that I was smart enough to plea not guilty and told him no! He does NOT fight for his clients and also discriminates by your charge.. When I told him I refused to plea guilty he continued to push it on me that it was “for the best”. After a while of me continuing to say no he finally gave up and appeared to roll his eyes.... this Attorny is a joke and a disgrace to the county of riverside! ... my second acounter with him was actually today when I asked him to let judge stafford (which is a very honorable judge and have nothing but positive things to say about him) that I was here for my court hearing. He told me that he would tell him more then once and NEVER did. I sat in that courtroom from 8:30 to 12pm because of Unitis’s failure to inform stafford that I was there to contest my transfer hearing. I was the last to be seen because of Unitis’s incompetency and pure lazininess!!! Stafford had to apologize on his behalf. Now judge stafford on the other hand is an amazing honorable judge and I am very sad to see him retire. He truly wants to see us succeed but I have to say his only flaw is Unitis...
