Call Sandy if you have been told you can’t win!

Sandy got me custody of my grandaughter after I had been told by four other lawyers that I had no rights and couldn’t win. At our first meeting she was prepared with several ideas of what we might do. I knew then and there that she could and would win my case. She is one of the most intelligent pe...ople I have had the privilege to meet and has a vast knowledge of the law. She is tenacious and,”takes the bull by the horns”. On top of that, she is caring, considerate and fair with her clients. She kept me informed of new developments and I couldn’t have asked more of her. I was certainly glad that she was fighting for me and not against me. When you need someone who will fight for you, call Sandy Phillips first!

Failed to provide adequate legal representation

I hired Sandy to represent me and my daughter regarding custody of her children. At first she was great, she acted upon my daughters motherly rights to see and spend time with her own children and a court granted us temporary custody pending further court action (later, when we went to court the lega...l counsel for her ex boyfriend had several witnesses to call on their behalf and only me and my daughter were present in court so we were completely blindsided and were not even prepared or provided any advice or information regarding the fact we would even be taking the stand nor that we could have people testify in our favor) --- even after the trial, my daughter was still granted the right to see her children 4 days a week..however, her failure to provide us with information regarding another court date, which caused us to miss the court appearance, which caused the judge to issue an order stating we would be responsible for the court costs is inexcusable. It was completely unprofessional of her not to either provide us with information she was withdrawing from the case/as our lawyer/representation or..if nothing else, at least inform of us the court date.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
