Mr. Greene graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Finance collateral. He then completed his Law Degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, concentrating his course work in tax law, corporate law and estate planning. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Virginia, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
David has several years' experience in practice focusing on estate planning and administration for clients of all wealth levels. In addition, he also has tax preparation experience in public accounting, where he focused on individual and fiduciary tax compliance. David is experienced in fiduciary services as well. In his position as Trust Officer for Covenant Trust, he assists grantors and beneficiaries through the administration process, helping them achieve their goals. He has served families by acting as executor of a will, or as trustee for a variety of trusts--from testamentary trusts, to irrevocable life insurance trusts, to complex dynastic asset protection trusts.
David's goal is to be a resource to clients and to the planning community to discuss the status of the law, strategies for dealing with the ever-changing tax and regulatory environment, and developing creative solutions to the issues faced by clients. In that vein, he has written and published articles related to tax, trusts, business and estate planning and often speaks to various groups--from seniors, to financial planners and other attorneys--on similar topics.
David volunteers as a high school mock trial coach and also serves as treasurer for a student conference sponsored by Westminster Presbyterian Church in Kingsport, where he and his family are members.
