Review for David A. Dearolf Headline: Unprofessional, Hostile, and Actively Worked Against My Interests

I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with David Dearolf. While he was my court-appointed attorney for Case No. 2022-C-1695 in Davidson County, his conduct was far from professional.  Initially, he appeared to be handling my probation violation matter. However, as the case pro...gressed, his tone became incredibly disrespectful. In a letter dated November 26, 2025, he went out of his way to insult me, calling my request for a filing a "tactless and blunt 'demand'".  More alarmingly, after I was released from the Metro Detention Facility in February 2026, Mr. Dearolf took a turn that was actually dangerous to my freedom. When I filed my own pro se motion to address sentencing math that he refused to handle, he:  • Falsely accused me of forgery: He notified the court that I had "fraudulently" used his electronic signature, when I was simply trying to get the legal relief I was entitled to. • Alleged "threats": He told the Judge I threatened him to get the motion filed—a complete fabrication designed to cover his own lack of action. • Sought additional charges: Instead of acting as my advocate and correcting any procedural errors I might have made as a non-lawyer, he actively tried to get me charged with forgery just so he could be removed from my case. An attorney has an ethical duty of loyalty to their client. Mr. Dearolf did the opposite—he became a witness for the prosecution against his own client. If you are looking for an advocate who will actually protect your rights and treat you with basic human dignity, look elsewhere.
