Above is correct. Your EAD is tied to the TPS. Need to get for work authorization to be possible.
My husband was refused under section 221 (g). They asked for additional documents. How long will it take for a decision?

No one has a "right" to a passport. And you won't get one if you owe too much in child support.

Yes. Look into a different type of visa while you're still engaged. Probably best to work w/ a lawyer and get all your options laid out.

Retrogression is likely, but there's little you can do. If you're not in the US, you can only wait.

This isn't great the way you're describing it. You should get a reentry permit by filing I-131 to be on the safe side.
