Natalya L. Rose concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property, publishing and the Internet.
Ms. Rose advises clients on all aspects of the trademark, copyright, trade secrets, publishing, and personal rights laws. Ms. Rose has significant experience in the registration of copyrights with the United States Copyright Office, and in the registration of trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Tennessee Trademark Office and foreign Trademark Registries. Ms. Rose also counsels clients on proper use and continued protection of their intellectual property, and the issues of the transfer, licensing and management of their intellectual property. She also has considerable experience in the enforcement and defense of the intellectual property rights, including prosecuting and defending copyright infringement, trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets and personal rights. Ms. Rose also advises clients on Internet-related issues, such as obtaining and protecting domain names, creating website content, establishing website policies, and preparing and negotiating related agreements. In addition, she works closely with other members of MJHC, assisting them with intellectual property issues in a full range of corporate and transactional services.
Ms. Rose was voted by her peers as “Best of the Bar” in the area of intellectual property, in 2007 and as a Mid-South Rising Star, in 2008 and 2009. Ms. Rose is an active member of the Nashville Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Committee and is also a past contributing member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Intellectual Property Law, where she worked closely with professionals from across the United States to formulate ABA’s policy and actions with respect to intellectual property laws. Ms. Rose was elected and served as an Associate in Harry Phillips American Inn of Court for the 2003-2005 term.
Ms. Rose is presently serving in her third elected term as president of L’Alliance Francaise de Nashville, a member chapter of the nation-wide Alliance Francaise Etats-Unis and the world-wide Alliance Francaise, and is also president of Alliance Francaise Cultural & Educational Fund, Inc. Ms. Rose is conversant in several languages, including Russian, Spanish, Italian and French.
Ms. Rose received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French, magna cum laude, from East Tennessee State University in 1997. She received her Juris Doctor in 2001 from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she served on the editorial board of the Tennessee Law Review.
