The most disrespectful attorney out there

Misty was extremely rude and sarcastic towards me from the very first phone call. I didn't have a lot of money and she was the cheapest and I thought since she was a jerk to me she would be a jerk in court and fight for me. That wasn't true because she didn't even take the time to be familiar with ...my case. She charges you for every single thing you do- if she has to read an email, it's $37.50. If you need to ask her a quick question and it takes only 30 seconds, that will cost you another $37.50. She was my lawyer for about a year on my child custody case and she got me absolutely nowhere. So I had to fire her and pay a little more for a lawyer who I heard was good. I went with Paul Jeter out of Nashville and made progress the very next time we were in court. He helped me to win my case and I couldn't be more pleased with the way he worked. I have my son more days than I would have with Misty because she used just the basic child custody layout. Paul advised me of things I should put in the papers differently that matched my specific case, not just the standard stuff. When I fired Misty, I had a zero balance with her. She never mailed me my file so that I could give it to my new lawyer, so my new lawyer had to email or call her asking for it, which she charged him for. Then finally after a couple months she got it over to him. Then I received a statement from her stating I owe her $150 for firing her! $37.50 was due for her to call the court and withdraw, another $37.50 for emailing my new attorney, and $75.00 for emailing my file to him! This seemed extremely unfair to me AND I didn't have a copy of the contract I signed with Misty because she never gave it to me. She made us meet at Starbucks because she didn't have an office. She took everything I gave her (pics, statements of where I paid for things for my son, etc.) and said she would make copies of them and the contract and bring it back to me the next time we met, but I never saw any of these things again. Therefore, I did not pay her what she asked because I didn't know if that was in the contract or not. Then, the other day I received an email from her stating that I now owe her $225.00 instead of $150.00, so I'm guessing there's interest. I have 30 days to pay it and if I don't, she said the price would go up. I sent her an email about it so she will probably charge me for that, too! She is unfair, very rude and arrogant, and honestly, not even a good lawyer in the courtroom. I was very disappointed and truly wish I would have just paid more money for a different lawyer from the start instead of trusting Misty. Please, if you are a father wanting custody of your child like I was, please do not waste your time. Any other lawyer is better. You only have one good shot at getting custody of your child- make it a good one. Same goes for any other case you may have that needs to go in front of the judge.

extremely satisfied

I am very pleased with the service I received. Not only was I kept up to date throughout my case but I also received a prompt response each time I was unable to contact her by phone or email. The outcome of my case was more than I ever expected and I honestly don't think I would have gotten the same ...results from anyone else. I would highly recommend Misty Parks to any friend or family who may be in need of legal advice and/or legal representation.

Excellent Result

I was charged with Simple Possession in Rutherford County along with some of my friends. Being a college student, I was very concerned about this offense and the possibility of having a criminal record. Ms. Parks was able to meet with me on short notice and on a Saturday for my convenience. She wa...s able to get started on my case right away. She gave me all the information that I would need for what to expect at court and emailed me copies of everything that related to my case. On my court date the charge against me was dismissed and Ms. Parks took the time to complete the necessary paperwork to have the matter removed from my criminal record. I could not have had a better result.

Amazing experience!

I hired Misty after the first lawyer I was working with didn't give me the attention or information I needed. When I first called her, she listened carefully to my situation, and she gave me her undivided attention. She was the first lawyer I had spoken to that really took time to listen to everyth...ing that was going on in my case. Since I was changing lawyers part way through my case, she had to spend a good amount of time reading through all of the material we had produced so far. She was efficient at getting up to speed and getting moving quickly on my case. She took a situation that looked like it would take 6 or more months to resolve, and had it finished within a couple months. She was conscious of my budget, and she kept me informed about how much time she was spending on my case. She is highly intelligent, thorough, and follows through. Misty is my go-to lawyer from now on, and I have recommended her to my friends. If you're looking for a great lawyer, start with Misty.
