Frost was born in East Tennessee and has consistently voted with the Republican Party. He is a conservative fiscally and politically. He is a strict believer in both the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Tennessee, which is designed to be more protective of the rights of individuals than is the U.S. Constitution. Frost believes laws and statutes should be followed closely and there must be consideration for all the people.
Frost is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a B.S. degree, received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee in 1976, and began his practice in East Tennessee. In 1986, Frost moved to Murfreesboro and has continued his practice of law for now more than 36 years. During that time, he has represented numerous individuals and business, both large and small, in State and Federal Courts of Tennessee, and in eleven other states.
In 2001, Frost became a member of the local Public Defenders office and appeared daily in the General Sessions Court in Murfreesboro for over 10 years. He represented hundreds of individual defendants in both misdemeanor and felony cases as well as violations of probation. “During that time,” said Frost, “I became aware of a number of things I believe could make the General Sessions Court more efficient and better able to serve, not only defendants, but witnesses, clerks, and officers of the law. The number of cases this court handled in the last ten years has grown and grown and new systems need to be studied and adopted to make the court process flow more professionally and competently. It is important to remember this court needs the coordination and cooperation of many attorneys, clerks, and police officers, and needs to consider the number of people both entering and held in the jail on a daily basis.”
Frost is currently a member of Drake Drake & Frost, an Association of Attorneys, and is a member of the Rutherford Cannon County Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in all of the State Courts of Tennessee. He is a member of the Bar of the Eastern District Federal Court, the Bar of the Middle District Federal Court, and the Bar of the United States Court of Federal Claims.
While living in Murfreesboro, he has been active in the community by serving in the Murfreesboro Civitan Club where he was named Member of the Year. He and his wife, Margaret (Meg), are both members of, and regularly attend, Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.
