Jacob Thomas Thorington

Jacob Thorington is a dedicated family law attorney with a career spanning since 2007. He specializes in handling a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, post-divorce issues, custody, child support, alimony modifications, paternity, and prenuptial agreements. Jacob’s meticulous approach and strategic preparation ensure that each case is addressed with the utmost care and expertise.

A graduate magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Jacob holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Tech, which equips him with strong analytical skills and financial familiarity. He has extensive experience arguing motions and trying cases across various courts in Middle Tennessee, as well as before the Tennessee Court of Appeals.

In addition to his litigation practice, Jacob is a Rule 31 Listed Family Law Mediator, having mediated cases since 2016. His role as a mediator allows him to guide clients in making informed decisions about whether to settle or proceed with litigation, drawing on his deep understanding of family law dynamics.

Committed to his community, Jacob actively participates with the Legal Aid Society, Youth Leadership Franklin, The Boy Scouts of America, and Southeast Christian Church. A native of Manchester, Tennessee, he resides in Franklin with his wife, their three children, and a lively herd of pets.
