Unfortunately, many people find out the hard way that health insurance and Medicare will not cover long term care for their loved ones. They are left with the burden to cover the costs out of their own ... pockets. We worked with our client and her parents to provide competent and legal guidance with Medi-Cal planning. We completed a comprehensive review of their assets and assisted them in ethically “spending down” to meet the requirements. She was able to move her father into an excellent nursing facility so that he can receive the around the clock care that his condition requires. She was able to shift her focus on spending time with her newborn and enjoying motherhood instead of having to worry about how she was going to afford long-term care for her father. We also created an estate plan for her mother to ensure that her assets would be protected from recovery
