Court appointed attorneys can be a crap shoot. You never know if you're getting someone with experience or some greenhorn fresh out of law school...
If you need to contact a collection agency via certified mail and they only have a PO box. What step should I take next.

It can be. Depending on title company requirements, you and your husband may have to sign an "Affidavit of Non Homestead" at closing.

It simply means there is a warrant for your arrest. It may or may not mean that you've already been indicted, depending on which county you're in....
