Derek Rose

Derek Rose is an attorney at Caldwell Wenzel & Asthana Personal Injury Lawyers. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. While attending the University of Southern Mississippi he was given the Gamma Alpha Epsilon award for academic excellence.

After completing his studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, he attended Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Derek graduated from law school in 2002 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence.

While attending Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law he was inducted into Who’s Who among American Universities and Colleges. He was elected as Honor Court Chief Justice and Second Year Associate Justice and served as Executive Editor of the Jones Law Review. He also served as President and Vice President of Sigma Delta Kappa legal fraternity.

He was admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama and became a member of the Alabama State Bar in 2002. Derek is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is also licensed in the State of Mississippi, District of Columbia, and the State of Iowa.

Derek is currently the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Spanish Fort and has served in that capacity since June 2017.

He is a current member of the Alabama Bar Association and the Baldwin County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. He is a former member of the Mobile Bar Association, Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Baldwin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. He also served as the Treasurer for the Baldwin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and was a Board Member of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
