Sonny Reagan was elected Circuit Court Judge of Alabama's 12th Judicial Circuit. As a lawyer in private practice he specialized in criminal defense, divorce, DUI, juvenile law, and general civil litigation. He has a wide range of legal experience in criminal prosecutions, civil litigation, appellate procedure, governmental affairs, and public policy. Reagan formerly served as a cabinet member and chief legal advisor to a former Alabama Governor and was a state prosecutor in the Alabama Attorney General’s Office where he worked for three different Attorney General administrations. He was named Prosecutor of the Year in 2012. Before becoming a lawyer, Reagan served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. He has flown several hundred direct action combat missions and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Air Medal for his service in Afghanistan. He continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
