Dan William Taliaferro

I am employed as an Assitant Attorney General for Consumer Protection Division of the State of Alabama Attorney General's Office where I investigate and prosecute corporations and persons for wrongful acts comtted against Alabama consumers. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Alabama (BA 1980, JD 1983), I began my professional career as a Montgomery County, Alabama Deputy District Attorney in 1984 and there prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, including 83 cases to jury verdicts, by the time I left that office in 1987. I then joined the law firm of Copeland, Franco, Screws & Gill, became of partner of that firm in 1993, and left to start my own practice of law in 1998. Beginning in 1998, I practiced law independently for several years before joining the law firm of Davis & Taliaferro, LLC, where I remained until 2019. My experience in litigation has been primarily concerned with personal injury and criminal defense. Now I represent the State of Alabama and devote most of my practice to protecting consumers against, and obtaining compensation for consumers for, violations of the Alabama Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
