Client had moved out of condo, left a family member in the condo to pay for expenses. The family member did not pay for the homeowner association fees, and the HOA sued the Client. The HOA never prope ... rly served the Client, but through inaccurate affidavits, was able to obtain a judgement against the Client and garnish her bank account. The garnishment was the first notice of the lawsuit that the Client received (she was living in NY at the time).
