I founded Legal Journeys, LLC to give families a different kind of legal experience, one built on education, personal attention, and planning that reflects the lives they have worked hard to build.

As the firm’s founding and lead attorney, I focus my practice on estate planning and Elder Law. I help clients create wills and trusts, complete comprehensive Life & Legacy Planning Sessions, prepare for the legal and financial challenges of aging, and explore strategies that may reduce their estates’ future exposure to Medicaid estate recovery. My goal is not simply to prepare documents. It is to help each client understand their options and leave with a plan designed for their family, their assets, and the legacy they want to protect.

Earlier in my career, I became known for my tenacity in the courtroom. That experience taught me how emotionally and financially draining legal disputes can be, especially when families are already coping with the incapacity or death of someone they love. I now focus that same determination on helping clients plan proactively, avoid unnecessary court involvement, and make difficult situations easier for the people they will one day leave behind.

Clients quickly discover that Legal Journeys is not an ordinary law firm. We have created a professional but welcoming, home-like environment where families can feel comfortable asking questions and discussing deeply personal concerns. With comfortable seating, books, and toys for young children, our office was designed to make the planning process feel approachable rather than intimidating.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Faulkner University and my Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. I have been a member of the Alabama State Bar since 2014.

My connection to North Alabama is also personal. I spent my earliest years as a military child before my family returned to its Alabama roots when I was six. Madison soon became home and remains the community where I live, work, and raise my family.

My wife, Elaine, and I were married in 2023 and share a beautiful blended family. In addition to our two children, I have adult stepchildren from a previous marriage and two wonderful grandchildren who call me “Grandpop.” Outside the office, I have served as an assistant coach for my son’s baseball team, hold a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and enjoy dog training and volunteering in the community.

Estate planning and Elder Law involve much more than legal documents. They are about protecting the people you love, preserving what matters to you, and making sure your family has guidance when they need it most. It would be my privilege to help you take that journey.
