Janine Elena Hunt-Hilliard

Janine Hunt-Hilliard is an experienced attorney who focuses on making sure her clients' legal needs are met or exceeded.  She concentrates on Business Law and Family Law.  In addition to her law degree, she has a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and over 19 years of legal experience.  Attorney Hunt-Hilliard has extensive education and experience in both business and law.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware, and both an MBA and her law degree from Howard University.  Attorney Hunt-Hilliard has worked at a Fortune 500 company, on Capitol Hill, and for law firms in Maryland, Delaware and Alabama.

Attorney Hunt-Hilliard’s passion is for assisting businesses in meeting their goals.  As an entrepreneur herself, she understands and can anticipate many of the needs of her clients.  She has assisted various types of businesses with legal services including choosing the proper form of business organization, drafting vendor and supplier contracts, negotiating contracts, drafting and/or reviewing leases, and completing real estate transactions.  She has assisted both for-profit and non-profit entities with various legal issues for almost two decades.  Attorney Hunt-Hilliard has also taught a continuing legal education course to educate other attorneys about establishing non-profit organizations and applying for tax exempt status.

Attorney Hunt-Hilliard also has experience in Family Law.  She has represented clients in child support and child custody cases, as well as dependency matters.  She has served as a Special District Judge and Special Circuit Judge in Jefferson County Family Court on many occasions.  Additionally, she handles Adoptions.  As a former foster parent and an adoptive parent, Attorney Hunt-Hilliard has a wealth of knowledge about the adoption process from both a legal perspective and a practical perspective.  She is also an advocate for foster care and adoption.
