Mr. Robinson represents energy and public utility companies in a wide variety of matters in both the federal and state regulatory arenas.  His practice includes the following:

• Material role in coordinating successful application on behalf of investor-owned utility for nine-figure amount in stimulus funds for smart grid projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as well as providing legal counsel on reporting and other compliance obligations associated with recipients and contractors of stimulus funds.
• Material role in coordinating one of a handful of grants awarded nationwide for hydroelectric projects made with stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as well as providing legal counsel on reporting and other compliance obligations associated wtih recipients and contractors of stimulus funds.
• Tariff filings for both cost-based and market-based rates
• Depreciation rate filings
• Notices of cancellation of transmission service agreements
• Nuclear plant construction cost issues
• Litigation before the FERC involving allegations of market fraud
• NERC reliability standards and compliance
• Requests for rehearing and clarification before the FERC
• Advice and counsel regarding stimulus funding applications and recipient reporting requirements under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
• Negotiation of power purchase agreements with respect to capacity, energy, and/or renewable resources
