I have been in the private practice of law since 1998, including probate and estate counseling, civil and criminal litigation before state and federal courts, alternative dispute resolution, business organization and as counsel to small businesses with regard to employment law matters. My practice is currently primarily focused on collections and creditors' rights litigation in Alabama and Tennessee.
I have helped prepare and present educational programs to various legal groups in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, serving most recently as faculty for NBI's Collection Law Seminars in December 2016 and June 2017 in Birmingham, Alabama.
I helped organize and served on the initial board of directors of the Community Furniture Bank of Birmingham, a non-profit organization which specializes in the pickup, storage, and delivery of donated furniture, appliances, and other household goods.
I have helped lobby the state legislature with regard to social justice issues. I am a member of the Episcopal Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Indian Springs, Alabama, having served three years on the church’s vestry and as its senior warden in my final year.
I have been married 25 years and have a 15-year-old daughter.
