Mr. Weinbaum handled my case several years ago, after 1 1/2 years in court he won me my case. Long story short he could have billed me for many unnecessary hours as my ex's attorney did to him. In the end I am grateful for the way he handled my case.

Hire someone else

I hired Chet in April for a motion for contempt/enforcement. 8 months later after finally reaching days before a hearing I get notice that the hearing was stricken by the judge. The reason it happened was that Chet never filed a proposed order for the hearing. How do I know that? The cancellation of ...hearing described WHY it was canceled and included that Chet received a reminder email that it would be necessary in order for the hearing to proceed. Additionally, I’ve had to send multiple emails and make multiple calls to remind the office to scheduled previously canceled hearing, sometimes waiting an entire month! I’ve had to chase down this office to pursue subpoenas. & after almost an entire year of retaining Chet, I have gotten NO hearing, no forward movement. I spent over $2,000 and he refuses to refund me. I’ve had to terminate him and walk away with an over $2,000 loss. I would NOT recommend this office. He is not passionate about his work. He is not diligent and organized.

Amazingly awful performance

I hired this lawyer for a criminal case after I was arrested with no warning at a beach by a rogue and careless sheriff’s deputy because someone told his colleague that I "might have committed" a crime-at a different location, and on a different day.NO crime occurred!The officer asked me nothing.The ...lack of an investigation and professionalism by the deputy aside, the indisputable facts are that this attorney: failed to call in a key deputy witness, a no brainer witness, who would have cleared me immediately with his testimony. This attorney failed to realize, and use to our advantage, the fact that I was charged under the wrong statute for what I was accused of in the careless rush to arrest me. He took my money to depose the alleged victim and then suddenly changed his mind about doing this deposition after getting my money, offering no reason or refund. He also kept from me other key witness depositions transcripts of detectives (who stated under oath that they had no idea if a crime even ever happened ) kept these from me for me for months despite my desperate attempts to get this from him.He failed to use this testimony which all lawyers told me should have killed the case. He conducted the briefest of depositions, failing to ask key questions of the arresting officer.He failed to turn over to prosecutors hard evidence that my private investigators established in support of my innocence.He stayed silent last minute at a crucial hearing after being paid to make a critical argument and never explained to me his silence! All this is incredulous and factual and can be proven and shows a lawyer who wanted my money and see me fail for whatever reason or was over his head as a family lawyer who should never have taken this case! Always check a professional's references and testimonials before hiring them. I sure wish I had.
