I agree with the other person who wrote she is never prepared, she is always disorganized and does not take notes during trial. She does not object to anything , not does she prepare you for anything before hand. The attorney I hired after I fired her was so much better than she was. I would not reco...mmend her at all.

As I client, I began my experience with this attorney through her partner who quickly steered me towards his mother, Lauren, with the admonition that she had "more success" against the attorney we were up against. Ofcourse this meant a much higher per hour charge and not worth the upcharge at all. ... The case began with this firm not even knowing about the first court date and they had to obtain this information from the petitioner. Next the looked over a restraining order and advised me that it was okay to visit my sons. Luckily the local police called to advise me against this or I would have been found in contempt. The case went on with Ms. Phelps continual comments of how the plaintiff's attorney was "always so behind" yet Ms. Phelps personally stated that she had left a matter on her own desk in my case for a month before acting on it. Additionally court motions were filed early on in the trial yet were never followed up by this attorney resulting in huge expenses. Objections in court were rare and preparation - if it occurred at all - seemed to be a last minute idea (usually at the respondent's table in the courtroom or in the hall before the trial).

Lauren is handling my child custody appeal. I was confused as to which attorney to use and money was an issue. Lauren was fantastic at working with me, but most importantly, she really didn't know me, my situation or my x because she wasn't the attorney that did the trial, therefore she came in blin...dly. After she read the 3500 page transcript, her appeal was as if she had been through the entire trial. She captured the essence of the entire nightmare and was able to put it into words. The appeal is still pending, but I'm confidant that Lauren's hard work will make the appeal a slam dunk.
