I represented Defendant Scholz in a case brought by Kashani. Scholz had repaired a landslide on Kashani's property in 1997. Kashani sold the property in 2000. In 2005, a subsequent owner experienced ... a landslide and sued Scholz and others. Scholz settled that lawsuit. One of Scholz's co-defendants in the 2005 lawsuit sued Kashani to recover the attorney's fees and settlement costs he paid in that lawsuit. Kashani sued Scholz for indemnity. Scholz obtained a good faith settlement. Kashani tried to amend his complaint several times, but the court sustained multiple demurrers, eventually dismissing the case.
OUTCOME: I obtained a judgment in excess of $1,000,000 and an injunction to stop him from further sales of my client's products.
