Kevin Michael Murphy

A Sarasota native, Kevin M. Murphy built his legal career in the community where he was raised. He graduated from Florida State University in 1993 and later earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University. While in law school, he was a member of Phi Delta Phi and was recognized with the high grade award for Advanced Criminal Practice and Procedure. Mr. Murphy was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1998 and spent the early part of his career as a prosecutor in the Sarasota County State Attorney’s Office, gaining extensive courtroom experience trying cases to verdict. Since entering private practice in 2000, he has concentrated on trucking and transportation insurance defense, trying truck accident cases in jurisdictions throughout Florida. Through his involvement with TIDA, he has access to a 24/7 first-response team that can quickly assist with scene investigations and liability assessments. Mr. Murphy also represents clients in criminal and traffic defense matters and remains active in the profession through local and statewide legal organizations.
