“I accused a retired judge of unethical conduct. The judge filed a complaint. A committee of attorneys initially found no violation. However, the matter was set for trial. Immediately before trial, the Bar asserted new charges. Due to my attorney’s unpreparedness and time, I could not gather the facts needed to rebut. I was forced to settle. Afterwards, I discovered that: the statute of limitations had expired, two charges were not violations and that a rule change caused the third.”
