I served as primary trial counsel in a case involving charges of attempted murder, first degree assault, and witness retaliation. The case was tried to a jury of 12 over a period of three days. The all ... egations centered around an attempted homicide with a gun, where the victim made an immediate identification. We were able to point out differences between the victim's testimony and the physical evidence at the scene, which suggested a lack of credibility - or at least a lack of accuracy - in the critical testimony. A conviction of the lead charge would have likely resulted in a sentence of 100+ years, so the Not Guilty verdict on that charge was significant.
