I am the Florida attorney for Resolutions in Special Education, Inc. a boutique law firm specializing in the representation of public school boards and educational institutions in matters involving students with disabilities. I have practiced law in Southwest Florida since 2007 and am a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Education Law (2016-2021). I hold an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. I began my career as a litigator representing major national and international manufacturing concerns in defense of products liability actions and in insurance defense matters across the country. In 1997, I first joined my current law partner, Julie Weatherly, in representing school systems in Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and other civil rights cases throughout the United States. In 2001, I was appointed Assistant General Counsel to the Atlanta Public School System in Atlanta, Georgia. In Feburary 2016, Julie and I reteamed to open RISE's Florida office where we represent and consult with education agencies throughout the state, and Southeast Region. My practice is largely focused on regulatory compliance, operations and litigation.
