During the course of our investigation, we learned that our client was ordered removed in 2003 due to his previous lawyers' errors, and that removal order prevented him from adjusting his status to that of a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States. Our firm filed a motion to reopen with the Board of Immigration Appeals seeking reopening of our client's removal proceedings based on ineffective assistance of all his previous five lawyers. Despite the opposition of the Department of Homeland Security -- ICE, the BIA reopened the proceedings and remanded the case to the Immigration Court. In Immigration Court, ICE agreed to file a joint motion to terminate the removal proceedings so that our client may apply for adjustment of status with USCIS.

USCIS terminated the lead family member's asylum status for alleged fraud and placed the entire family into removal proceedings.
