Elizabeth Phillips Davis

My experience with Elizabeth Davis, P.A. fell tragically short of what I would consider competent legal representation. I retained Ms. Davis in June 2025 for a post-divorce modification and contempt matter and paid a $3,000 retainer. Communication was a persistent and serious problem. Ms. Davis al...most never responded to emails or returned phone calls. When I did manage to reach her, I was often told she hadn’t received my previous emails because they had gone into her “spam folder” or had not appeared in her system. All calls were routed through a virtual answering service, with a different person answering every time, and I was never provided a direct phone number to reach her. Progress on the case was equally troubling. After nearly three months, my former spouse was served with pleadings that, according to my new attorney, had never even been filed with the court. In other words, the service was meaningless and had no legal effect. I also later learned that the contempt filing Ms. Davis recommended was not enforceable for the issue involved. Because of these issues, I eventually had to hire new counsel to correct the situation. As of today, it has been two months since Ms. Davis has responded to any of my emails, including formal written requests for an accounting of my retainer. This way my case was handled has left me with no choice but to file a complaint with the Florida Bar.

Met Elizabeth back in December 2013 to talk about getting child support from my ex wife for my son . We sat down and she explained to me the process of proceeding with the case against my ex wife. Anytime she went to court or any news with the case she called me into her office and explained what wa...s going on and what she was going to to to get the case finalized so that I would get some sort of help for my son from my ex wife.
