I am a Polk County Native who grew up in Bartow and graduated with honors from Bartow Senior High School. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Communications, from the Florida State University in 1997. I then earned my Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in December of 2000. I began my legal career as an Assistant State Attorney at the State Attorney's Office for the Tenth Judicial Circuit practicing in Polk and Hardee County. I then decided to explore the other side and became an Assistant Public Defender at the Public Defender's Office for the Tenth Judicial Circuit. I joined Colón & McNelis, P.A. in 2005 and have been representing clients in family and criminal defense matters ever since. I am an experienced trial attorney, having handled numerous cases in both County and Circuit Court. During my career, I have argued countless motions and have tried over thirty jury trials. I am a member of the Polk County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Lakeland Bar Association, and the Polk County Trial Lawyers Association. I have been a member of the Florida Bar since 2001 and is a member of the Criminal and Family Sections of the Bar. I am dedicated to the practice of law and helping those in need and I focus primarily in criminal, dependency and family law, and social security in Polk, Hardee and Highlands Counties.

I should have just payed the opposing Lawyer
No communication whatsoever, I got more help from her assistant than Stacy. She folded like a chair on every situation. In the end I didn't get one thing she said I would get. As a Matter of fact she put me in the hole, with child support. She made decisions without my consent. In the end, Stacy too ...
"I highly endorse Stacey as an attorney. She works hard and is always approachable. Stacey knows how to get the job done."
