Greatest person on planet
I met Mr. Colon at a very difficult times of my life. I was charged by a poorly educated polk county sheriff’s deputy with a bad felony. This crooked cop has lied and faked evidence. Mr. Colon exposed all of it. From the first day he offered me a free consultation to the day my case got dismissed, I...

Poor Performance
Gil Colon did not communicate effectively and spent most of his time with me joking around rather than discussing my case. He was disrespectful on more than one occasion, did not have a handle on the basics of my case, and seemed distracted most of the time. I did most of the work on my case; Gil Col...
As an attorney in good standing and licensed to practice law in the State of Florida for almost 32 years, I am constrained by the rules promulgated by The Florida Bar from responding in detail regarding any legal action I offer representation in. Furthermore, I would never desire to breach the most trusted and privileged relationship of confidentiality held between attorney and client. I would like to take the time to address this review though as I do believe it to be wholly false and a misrepresentation of my abilities, integrity, and character as an attorney. While it is never my goal for a case to resolve leaving a client dissatisfied with the outcome, when working in the legal system, it does happen. While a client may be dissatisfied with the result of a case, it is important to recognize that the outcomes of cases are based on a variety of factors, many of which are out of control of the attorney no matter how diligently they work on the case. Every case and every client is different. In each case which comes into my office, I make sure to take the time to thoroughly review the basics of the case with the client and to understand it completely before beginning my work on it to ensure the best resolution we can get. I work side-by-side with a skilled team to ensure that our clients are responded to no later than 24 hours from contacting our office as a rule. We encourage our clients daily to contact us and openly communicate with us as their cases evolve. I am unable to respond to or clarify a question that is not asked, and I am unable to communicate effectively unless my client works together with me and my team to assist them in their representation. My goal as an experienced defense attorney is two-fold. One - to present an aggressive and thorough defense for my client ultimately leading to the best desired outcome for that client based upon the facts of their case; and Two – to provide as comfortable of a relationship as I possible can while guiding my client through what is often a very stressful and difficult time in their life. It is important to me that I, as well as my staff, consistently address our clients with a courteous and professional demeanor often offering a reassuring smile or slight joke, when appropriate. I have found that in order to discuss difficult topics openly, it is imperative to build a relationship of trust, respect and good candor between myself and my clients so that they feel comfortable to tell me details of their case which can help me represent them to my fullest ability but may be uncomfortable to discuss. It is never my goal not to have a good relationship with my clients and I work very hard to establish that rapport with my clients and their families. To allege otherwise would be false. Lastly, as a proud son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and cousin to an outstanding and inspiring group of females that I am so blessed to care for and be surrounded by, not failing to include the fact that I am also an employer to an office staff made up entirely of women, I am greatly disheartened that anyone would insinuate in any way that I do not work well with females. I hold such great respect and gratitude for all the females in my life, that to insinuate that I would treat any female with a lesser regard than a male is simply untrue and greatly upsetting to me. I find it interesting that this review was posted anonymously. With that said, if you have any questions or feelings you would like to relay about your case or representation, I encourage you to please contact our office directly so that I can effectively discuss your case with you in a more appropriate forum than an online review board.
