Adoption Birth Certificate

We were searching for a birth certificate from an adoption in the 70's & Mr. Valentine instead of a thorough search on his part proceeded with a legal name change costing me $1700.00 with no birth certificate. 3 months later my daughter did her own search & teceived her birth certificate in her adop...ted name for $23.00 through the Dept of Health in N.Y.!!! Valentine had the audacity to ask why did we search N.Y. after having all the onformation from me in writing. I asked repeatedly for him to call me & never heard from him. I should have reported him to the bar & still have time to do that. I was furious at how I was ignored. I even had to drive from GA to Lakeland to get an imvoice for charges incurred. My son lives in Lakeland & also had to "stop in" more than twice for results. This guy gives lawyers a worse name than they already have!

Great Lawyer and Great Experience

I was in the worst nightmare of my life. My husband was living four states away when he filed for a divorce and wanted to pursue custody of our 20-month-old daughter. I had hired three attorneys before I found Mr. Valentine. He took my case not even 2-months before my final hearing. He listened to my... every word and got caught up with my case in no time. He knew exactly what I wanted. He was my voice. I could not have done better if I spoke for myself. He is the first honest, experienced, gentleman attorney I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His staff, well, they are perfect too! They are always warm and friendly rather I am on the phone or visiting the office. They never try to hurry me off the phone or cut me short - no matter how many questions I have. They never make me feel as if my questions are not important. They give Mr. Valentine all my messages and he promptly returns my calls. You know the saying “save the best for last”? Well, that definitely applies in this case. If you are looking for a divorce/ child custody attorney, well, this is your guy. Do not waste your TIME or MONEY on anyone else. I have made him my attorney for life.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
