Mark Douglas McMann

Mark Macmann is a fraud and I will make sure he will never be allowed to practice family law. I was referred to him by a friend and at first he seemed very likable. He took 2 thousand dollars from me and never did a single thing and I’m not exaggerating. When I would try to contact him he never answe...red and never bothered to email me or call back. I had several meetings with him and he never showed up. His staff is just as inadequate and still blows my mind how they are even in business. So please please do not hire him, I don’t want anyone to have to go through this ever!

I would not recommend Mark McMann P.A. to anyone for any legal issues. I hired him December 2016, for a simple child support modification and we agreed on a total payment for the case. As the case progressed, McMann P.A. and his staff quickly became difficult to contact via phone when I needed upd...ates on the case. They either returned calls several days later or not at all. During the case, I had also set up several phone consultations with dates and times. McMann P.A. never followed through with any of them. During court mediation he was supposed to show up at the court but claimed at the last minute he was ill, and phoned in instead. During the case we also moved and I notified McMann P.A. twice we had moved, yet his office kept sending the paperwork to the wrong address. We also never received any notice of the deposition via email or at our address. Luckily, I called the day before the deposition to ask about the case and I was finally told the deposition was the next day. If I had not called, I would have missed my own court date as McMann P.A. failed to keep me advised of my case progress. When I did finally receive case documents from his office there was many mis-spellings and grammatical errors. I actually had to contact his office to have them corrected. The case was finally resolved almost 7 months later. Even though the case was resolved without going to trial, and we had already agreed on the payment amount, he then demanded additional money for the case. In closing, I would not recommend attorney McMann P.A. for any legal issues whatsoever. Also, the Florida Bar states McMann P.A. was disciplined and fined by the Florida bar on 6/21/17 for a DUI-driving under the influence, (which he plead guilty in court) and received from the Florida Bar one year probation, fines and court costs.

Hired mark last year for a nasty custody battle. He is always on time and also takes pride in his work. He showed up to all the court dates on time and even traveled to Tampa where the case was located. He is very professional and he truly cares. His assistant Carrie is also a huge help. He's helped ...tremendously and has got everything we've asked for so far. He makes sure everything is noted that you tell him. His assistant always has your file at hand and there are no issues with them getting back to you in a timely fashion. I would recommend mark to anyone going through custody battles.

Mr. mcmann failed to represent me on a simple custody modification. My exam-wife and I had shared custody with no child support , my ex took me to court asking for full custody, I challenged and ask for custody due to the fact that DVD had been evolved with my ex regarding children and the fact she w...as baker acted for a suicide attempt 6mths prior. Mark failed to bring this to the courts attention. Nothing was addressed except I paid him $2300, had to pay $5000 for my ex-wifes attorney plus $416 monthly child support while still having my son 50 percent of the time, keeping health insurance on him plus paying her 70 percent of whatever she buys him. Mind you nothing else was changed, his office staff is rude, nobody returns emails/phone calls and he dropped the issues without me advising him to do so, and when confronted he says you told him to. He even cancelled hearing that her attorney was fighting us on not wanting DVD records or baker act records admitted into court, sent email saying he will reschedule and never did. He even spoke other clients he was representing.

I moved to Illinois in May. I was referred to Mark Mcmann from another lawyer. He called me on Friday night at 6:30 at night, and he seemed thoughtfull. After the talk, I asked him how much to retain him, he said we talk later on that. He asked me to fax the paper work to his office. I did so, no ...one in the office knew what is was about. I informed is receptionist the talk Mark and I had, mark never responded. My court date is coming close, now I have to go about it alone. If he wanted nothing to do with the case, he should have said that, not lead me to believe all is well and ok. I will NEVER recommend him, NEVER hire him in future issues. Its funny that he dont respond to emails, or phone calls, and always away for trials or with clients all the time.
