also known as Rick, Kriseman
I was born in Detroit, Michigan, on Aug. 2, 1962, to Donald “Danny” Kriseman and Doris Abramsohn Kriseman.
In 1980, I entered the University of Florida and earned a B.S. in broadcasting before returning to Pinellas County to attend the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport.
I was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987 and the U.S. District Court and U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, in 1988.
I am a member of the St. Petersburg and American Bar Associations and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
I have practiced law with Englander & Fischer, P.A., and Keane, Hayes, and Reese, P.A. prior to starting my own firm, Exclusively Accident Attorney, where I helped accident victims for more than 13 years.
In early 2007, I joined the law firm of Saunders & Walker, P.A., and continue to focus on assisting the victims of DUI and other accidents, where I continued to practice law until leaving the firm at the end of June 2011.
Starting July 1, 2011, I began working for Lucas, Green and Magazine, working out of the firm's Clearwater office. LGM focuses on all aspects of personal injury law, auto negligence, slip and falls, medical malpractice, mass torts, sexual abuse cases, For-profit university cases, and bad faith litigation.
I was appointed to a vacancy on the St. Petersburg City Council in 2000, elected in 2001, and reelected in 2003 with more than 76 percent of the vote.
During my time on council I served on the Public Arts Committee, the Arts Advisory Committee, as Chair of the Public Safety, Service and Infrastructure Committee and as the Treasurer and Vice-Chair of the Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization.
I also was a member of the Special Committee on Wheeled Recreation, the Council Procedures Committee, the Transportation Impact Fee Task Force, The Livable Communities Task Force, the Pinellas County Cultural Arts Advisory Task Force, and served as Vice-Chair of the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations Committee.
In 2005, I was elected by my colleague to serve as the chair of city council.
In November 2006, I was elected to the Florida House of Representatives for District 53.
After taking office, I was named the Ranking Democrat on the Committee on Energy and was appointed to both the Environment and Natural Resources Council and the Committee on 21st Century Competitiveness where I served in that position for 2007 and 2008.
In 2008, I joined the General Government Policy Council, Policy Council, PreK-12 Policy Committee, and Energy and Utilities Committee and served on these committees for 2 years.
In 2010, I was appointed to the K-20 Innovation Subcommittee and the State Affairs committee, and in 2011, was appointed as Ranking Democrat on the K-20 Innovation Committee. I also serve as the Policy Chair for the House Democratic Caucus.
