If you get a lawyer, you may be able to skip posting bond and making the appearance at court.

Go to the clerk of court's website in the county he was convicted in. If he doesn't show up there, then he's probably in the federal system.

There's nothing wrong with using a suspended license as an ID. It's only illegal to drive when your license is suspended.

You can go to the State Attorney's office and file a victim's waiver of prosecution. Doesn't mean it'll work, but that's the first step.
