Patrick Dennis Wier

I lead Black Law, P.A.'s Tampa office, where my practice focuses on complex commercial disputes and civil litigation. I came to the firm after several years defending medical malpractice cases, and I bring that defense-side discipline — early case assessment, tight preparation, and a clear theory of the case — to every matter I handle.

My approach to practice was shaped by my military service. I am a graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis and served six years as an active-duty officer before joining the JAG Corps, where I continue to serve. That background informs how I run a case: clear objectives, disciplined execution, and thorough advocacy on behalf of the client.

I have successfully tried multiple cases to civil juries and serve as first chair in trials within the military justice system. In addition to my commercial litigation practice, I represent veterans in benefits matters, an area where my service background allows me to understand both the substance of the claims and what is at stake for the client. I am admitted to practice in Nebraska, Iowa, and Florida along with several government agencies and Federal Districts including the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
