Shelly Diane Mitchell

Shelly Mitchell is an associate attorney in the Tampa office of Groelle & Salmon, P.A. practicing first party insurance defense litigation. Prior to beginning her practice at Groelle & Salmon, Ms. Mitchell worked as a program attorney for the Guardian ad Litem’s office in the 13th Judicial Circuit of Florida, representing the best interests of children involved in dependency proceedings. During the 2012/2013 court year, Ms. Mitchell served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Bernadette N. De Castro, J.S.C. in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Ms. Mitchell received her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University College of Law in 2012 with a certificate in intellectual property and entertainment law, and was the recipient of the ABA/BNA Award of Excellence in Intellectual Property in 2012.

While in law school, Ms. Mitchell served as a judicial intern for Judge DeCastro. She also interned with Gray, Krauss, Stratford, De Rochers, LLP and Jax Media, LLC, in New York, NY where she gained experience preparing and negotiating a variety of contracts for television and film.

Ms. Mitchell received her Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Public Relations in 2007 from the Honors College of the University of South Florida.

Ms. Mitchell is licensed to practice law in Florida and New York.
