Tony Stone Stimson

Tony’s practice focuses on litigation and appeals arising from contested adoptions, and includes the representation of adoptive parents in adoption finalization proceedings, as well as a focus on DCF Interventions, enabling children in the foster care system to be adopted privately. Tony also practices in the area of surrogacy and reproductive law. 

Tony received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Law with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 2010 and a Juris Doctor with a concentration certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Liberty University School of Law in 2013. During law school, he was the 2012–2013 Editor-in-Chief of the Legal Journal and, that same year, a regional finalist in ABA’s Client Counseling Competition. He also received the Dean’s Scholarship and a special recognition for providing over 120 hours of pro-bono services. Tony then graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2014 with High Honors with his Master of Laws in International Law. Awarded an International Fellow, Tony was also a Mark Orr Foreign Affairs Student Fellow with the Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations and a participant in the American Caribbean Law Initiative Clinic.

After four years of practicing as in-house counsel for three Tampa Bay area corporations, Tony decided to join private practice. Tony is licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland and Florida.
