I agree with my colleague. You may be removed by DCF. Emancipation is very very difficult! You have to show you are completely self sufficient

Just file for divorce. In your petition you list 2004 as date of separation. Act ASAP. Hire an attorney

See if the father would consent to your husband adopting your kids. Otherwise the court may limit Timesharing, but not terminate his rights.
