Brenna Spinner is a litigation and appellate attorney with experience representing clients in a broad range of civil matters in state and federal courts. At Swope, Rodante, Newsome & Steinberg, Ms. Spinner draws on her background in complex litigation, appellate advocacy, disability benefits advocacy, and housing-related public interest work to represent injured clients and those wronged by Big Insurance.
Ms. Spinner’s practice is grounded in careful legal writing, strategic case development, and client-centered advocacy. Before joining Swope, Rodante, Newsome & Steinberg, she began her career as a litigation attorney at a leading law firm in Washington, D.C., where she represented clients through all phases of litigation, including securing a successful outcome for a client on a novel issue of law at the Supreme Court of Maryland.
In 2019, Ms. Spinner shifted her practice to representing individuals who had been denied Social Security Disability benefits. She combined her litigation experience with her commitment to serving low-income and disabled clients, ultimately obtaining successful results for hundreds of people seeking disability benefits. She brings that same commitment to Swope, Rodante, Newsome & Steinberg, where she advocates for clients whose lives have been changed by injury or injustice.
Ms. Spinner earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from the George Washington University Law School in 2016. While in law school, she was a member of the George Washington Law Review, participated in moot court competitions, chaired a committee of the GW Moot Court Board, and served as a Dean’s Fellow teaching legal research, writing, and advocacy to first-year law students. She also represented indigent clients facing eviction in the District of Columbia through a student legal clinic.
Ms. Spinner’s commitment to service has continued throughout her career. While practicing in Washington, D.C., she volunteered at the District’s landlord-tenant resource center, assisting pro se litigants with housing matters.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Ms. Spinner has lived throughout the Southeast. She and her husband settled in Florida in 2021 to be closer to family.
Ms. Spinner is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Florida, Southern District of Florida, Northern District of Indiana, Southern District of Indiana, District of Columbia, and Eastern District of Wisconsin.
