Paul Hudson Jones II

Hudson Jones is an Associate at Butler Pappas. Hudson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Harvard University in 2004, where he graduated cum laude. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2007. While attending law school, Hudson became active in the American Constitution Society, Public Interest Advocacy Group, Sports Law Society, Student Bar Association, and focused his studies on Litigation and Trial Advocacy. He received Book Awards in the courses of Judicial Power and Restraint, and Labor Law. During law school, Hudson also served as a legal assistant for two professors and contributed to numerous articles and books of legal scholarship.

After graduation and admission to The Florida Bar, Hudson began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender. He worked for approximately three years at the Florida Public Defender's Office in the Sixth Judicial Circuit. During his employment there, he litigated thousands of criminal cases. Hudson tried a total of 52 jury trials as a defense attorney. In 2010, he entered private practice at a defense firm in Sarasota, where he focused his practice on defending employers, insurance carriers, self insurers and third-party administrators in insurance and workers' compensation matters.  He is a member of the Hillsborough and Sarasota County Bar Associations.

Hudson is a former Division I scholar-athlete and was a four-year varsity wrestler at Harvard University. He has enjoyed participating in many service and volunteer efforts, including the Boston Partners in Education Tutoring Program, service trips to Appalachia to assist the poor, Habitat for Humanity, and foundations that focus their efforts on assisting developmentally handicapped children.
