Mary Jo Kuusela

Mary Jo Kuusela is a Partner at Butler Pappas. Mary Jo joined the firm in June of 2004.  Mary Jo received a Bachelor of Arts degree and was in the Honors Program at the University of South Florida in 2000.  Mary Jo received the University of South Florida Outstanding Graduate Award.  She received her Juris Doctorate from Stetson College of Law in 2003.  

Mary Jo is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts.  Mary Jo is a member of the Florida Bar and Texas Bar. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, St. Petersburg Bar Association, Pinellas County Trial Lawyers Association, and National Association of Subrogation Professionals. She has handled cases throughout the Eastern United States, including Florida, Georgia, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, and Ohio. She volunteers at the Hillsborough County Courthouse at the Family Forms Clinic, Domestic Violence Program, and the Attorney Ad Litem Program.

Mary Jo practices almost exclusively in Property Subrogation and Recovery, which includes all forms of contribution, indemnity and declaratory judgment cases. She also practices in transportation claims, including Carmack cases. Mary Jo speaks regularly at Subrogation Industry events.
