About Marisa
Biography
Marisa Gonzalez was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan. After graduating from the Florida State University with honors and receiving her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, Marisa served the indigent criminal defendants of Hillsborough County as an Assistant Public Defender for the Thirteenth Judical Circuit of the State of Florida. Ms. Gonzalez was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2007 and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in 2009.
While an undergraduate, Ms. Gonzalez worked for Senator Bob Graham's Office of Constituency Services as an Immigration Intern. While in law school, Ms. Gonzalez was published in the Whittier Journal of Child and Family Advocacy and also taught English as a Second Language at Admiral Farragut Academy before becoming licensed by the Florida Bar. Ms. Gonzalez is an avid knitter and insatiable bibliophile.
