Jack Ruffin Hunt

J. Ruffin Hunt is a Tampa criminal defense attorney and the founder of Hunt Law | Tampa Criminal Defense, where he focuses exclusively on defending individuals accused of crimes throughout Tampa, Hillsborough County, and the surrounding Tampa Bay area.

A Tampa native, Mr. Hunt has spent his legal career representing people facing criminal charges. Before entering private practice, he served with the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office, where he represented thousands of clients and handled cases ranging from misdemeanors and DUI offenses to serious felony prosecutions. He ultimately served as a Division Chief, supervising attorneys while continuing to litigate criminal cases in Hillsborough County courts.

That background gives Mr. Hunt substantial experience with the local criminal justice system and the practical realities defendants face after an arrest. His practice includes DUI defense, domestic violence, drug crimes, sex crimes, violent crimes, theft and property offenses, firearm charges, criminal traffic offenses, probation violations, and other misdemeanor and felony matters.
