Johnnie B Byrd Jr.

My late husband had previously retained Johnnie Byrd with an alimony issue and he represented him well in that matter. So recently I retained him to assist me with updating my estate planning documents including designation of health care surrogate, power of attorney, living will, trust, and HIPAA ...releases. These documents were created and provided to me in a timely manner and for a reasonable fee. He also followed up after the finalization of the documentation with reminders of things to review or do as a result of the creation of the trust. I appreciated his professionalism and would not hesitate to retain his services again in the future.

It is my opinion that Johnnie Byrd is first about integrity & his longer term reputation as a fellow man & local citizen of the community. That he may profit from any abilities as an exceptional attorney seems to me almost secondary in him. Johnnie would become my advocate, counselor, legal protecto...r & a part of my support system. I would find myself in front of Johnnie seeking assistance and on the advice of respected friends….and as I began with him was clearly somewhat ‘rattled’, embarrassed & ‘blown away’ by the turn of events in my life & having been served with a divorce I did not wish for but which was clearly intent on harming me as much as would be (legally & financially) possible…it became clear early on that this man was more about seeing his fellow man ‘stabilize’… and becoming first aware of every possibility… before either of us would move forward. Indeed as I recall it would be my 3rd contact with Johnnie before he would accept any monies from me…and I then found his fees, retainer & policies to be completely fair. When all was ‘said & done’ there would remain some unused money associated with me in escrow with Johnnie. He immediately addressed this and refunded monies due. Furthermore, as things would progress it would become clear that he would not be the type of attorney to bill me for every single question or communication. And to that point I found Johnnie to be exceptional in his communications & follow-thru with me. In Johnnie I found an attorney whose length of experience speaks for itself, but I also personally found an individual adept at using analogies, metaphors, wit & humor to make his points and guidance to me. My particular situation would drag on for a fairly long time. Stopping & starting at least once as I would attempt to find a way to ‘salvage’ my marriage – Never would Johnnie undercut that effort or push me to move along for his sake. And when things finally reached a somewhat sudden conclusion, Johnnie had ample opportunity to encourage me to continue on simply for spite toward the other party, or for financial gain, and to do so would clearly have been to his (financial) advantage – He did not do so. He wanted me to make the best decision for me and for my peace of mind. And it is for these reasons that I would trust Johnnie Byrd to represent me in any legal capacity that he may present himself. And I would trust him to represent any friend, family or loved one.

Excellent divorce attorney. Johnnie Byrd went above and beyond representing me in a very ugly divorce. He kept me well informed about my case and was available 24 hrs. a day for any questions regarding my case. His legal fees were more than reasonable for the time he spent on my case. I plan on usin...g him for any legal matters that I may have in the future. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Johnnie was condescending when he did communicate with me. He did not work the case by requesting any discovery, merely only giving O.C. what they requested. He did not provide all documentation to me as requested, could not manage the case within the budget (He nearly doubled it actually) and then w...ould not stand by our payment schedule discussed and presumably agreed to since he never objected. It is a shame when you can not trust your lawyer to have your best interest in mind. I would recommend you look for a more professional attorney, especially when they expect an astronomical dollar amount per hour and do not possess the knowledge they claim to and charge you for research they should already know. If your case is important to you, spend the time to find good representation.
