Biography
Attorney Raana Burney focuses her practice primarily in the area of business immigration. She handles employment-based immigration matters for corporations and individuals from a wide variety of industries, as well as all types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa issues.
Raana’s passion for immigration law stems from her personal immigration journey. Born in Pakistan to a career diplomat father and homemaker mother, Raana spent much of her early life in both Australia and Pakistan. After immigrating to the U.S., Raana attended St. John’s University in New York, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Master’s degree in business. She went on to attend Stetson University College of Law in Florida, from which she graduated in 2012 with a Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate of Concentration in International Law.
Prior to attending law school, Raana worked in high-level finance positions with Fortune 500 companies in both Florida and New York. Her experience provides her with a unique perspective of the business needs of employers and the challenges they face daily.
Raana’s experience includes assisting employers with sponsoring their employees for permanent residence and/or temporary work visas such as H-1B, L-1, O and E visas, as well as assisting individuals who are seeking immigration based on investment in the United States. She works closely with clients to develop effective strategies for business immigration while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations as required by immigration laws, the Department of Labor, and USCIS.
Raana was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2013, and is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar, the American Bar Association, and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
