James was charged with stealing a safe. The true culprit was caught on a security camera and the footage was saved, but only at a few frames per second, like a bad cartoon. So at James's trial Mr. Wo ... olley pointed out that no one had ever seen the video at a normal or reliable speed, and it turns out the police even told their poor witness that James was on the tape before the witness ever got to look at the tape himself to verify that it really was James. That witness was used by the government, but at least the jury was able to see through the wasted attempt, and James was set free.
