Upon referral from a trusted attorney, I emailed W Jeffrey Barnes, indicating my intent to hire him for a real property matter. I traveled to Newport Beach, California, and paid W Jeffrey Barnes a $450 consultation fee. After W Jeffrey Barnes accepted my check, he informed me that he was not licensed... to practice law in California, and thus could not represent me in said matter. He then told me that he could provide consultation services for another lawsuit matter. W Jeffrey Barnes contacted my attorney. Nothing that W Jeffrey Barnes provided to my attorney was usable. When I contacted W Jeffrey Barnes again, I found him to be rude and insulting. W Jeffrey Barnes then emailed my attorney about my lawsuit matter without my consent. I contacted the State Bar of California. I further requested a refund from W Jeffrey Barnes. W Jeffrey Barnes responded with threats against me via email. I do not recommend W Jeffrey Barnes.
