I and over 200 other residents live in a housing "village" in Pittsburgh that was declared a National Historic Landmark several years ago. Last year the Board voted to attain non-profit status for the Landmark and seek public and private funds to improve the property to make it more attractive for "...visitors." Some of us are concerned how visitors coming here would affect our lives in the Village, but the Board gave us limited information. We wanted to know what information was prepared to get non-profit status, but did not know how to do this. Attorney Fromknecht advised that I and other residents were entitled to see the application that had been submitted to form a non-profit entity. He advised that a request should be submitted in writing to our Board asking to see Form 1023. We wrote the request as advised and a copy of the application was made available immediately, providing us with the information we needed.

Without the pro-bono services of Side Project, Inc., Perks n Moore, Inc. would no longer be in business. A review of the records after the abrupt resignation of the President/CEO on June 1, 2013, revealed that the President failed to perform all duties incident to the office and such other duties as... may be required by law, by the Articles of Incorporation, and by the organization’s bylaws. During the first meeting with Jeff Fromknecht, President of Side Project, Inc., a prioritized detailed list of actions was implemented. By the end of 2013, all items had been successfully completed. Perks n Moore’s reputation is restored and the adult caregivers utilizing our programs and services have increased.
