Brandon J. Douglas

In addition to 36 years of courtroom experience, Mr. Douglas is also an experienced Family Law Mediator and has acted in that capacity since 1986.  He is widely recognized in the legal community for his experience, ethics, and professionalism.

Our firm handles dissolution of marriage cases from the simple uncontested divorce cases to the sophisticated, highly contested cases.  These cases include division of marital assets or property (equitable distribution) which may be accomplished via a Marital Settlement Agreement, Mediated Settlement Agreement, and/or a Final Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage obtained by presenting evidence of your case before the trial judge.  Our firm also addresses issues relating to setting aside Marital Settlement Agreements, invalidating Marital Settlement Agreements, enforcing Marital Settlement Agreements, partition and sale of marital real property, and other enforcement proceedings associated with property related matters.  Of course, we handle all aspects of alimony, alimony modification, alimony enforcement, and contempt hearings related to alimony. 

Mr. Douglas handles practically every facet of child related issues as it relates to the establishment of child support, pursuit of retroactive child support, child support modification, contempt for unpaid child support, enforcement of child support, as well as timesharing issues.  Custody is an outdated term in Florida but one which many people know and continue to use.  In Florida, the Court refers to custody as parental responsibility.  We handle cases to establish parental responsibility, timesharing schedules, visitation, parenting plans, guardian ad litem, parenting coordinator, social investigations, relocation with children, opposition to relocation with children, relinquishment of parental rights, termination of parental rights, and other child related matters. 

Similarly, Mr. Douglas is well versed in paternity actions.  The establishment of paternity, scientific (DNA) testing, child support from paternity, parental responsibility, and other related matters.  Along those same lines, our firm handles the disestablishment of paternity which is rather complex and time sensitive. 

Mr. Douglas' Prenuptial Agreement, Antenuptial Agreements, and PostNuptial Agreements are very detailed and written to cover as many anticipatable events as possible in an attempt to prevent (or limit) litigation in the future.
